Another option could be Google News. Simply make sure you’re compliant by following the link in the sources section below my post (3 unique digits in each URL, news sitemap, 40 posts per month, 3 contributors etc).

Getting on the first page of the SERPs for a highly generic niche term is a very real possibility with Google News — you will need to create at least one month’s worth of content before you are considered for inclusion.

You will also need to make it look as though at least three people are contributing to the site.

There are hundreds of opportunities when it comes to SEO and web promotion and as noted above, Twitter and Facebook are also great methods — it’s about taking it seriously and doing everything you can to drag the leads through the door.

A few basic tips though. First off you want to find out which key words to target. I could only imagine the competition you`ll have ranking for the key words you have specified.

You can find out the best key words by using tools like adwords.google.com and https://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/.

If that is a WordPress site you have used, you can install the plugin “All-In-One SEO“ as well.

Stick with a simple site – anything with Flash or javascript is difficult for the search engines `spiders`to find your keywords.

Google likes fresh new content – make sure you ping your site every time you make an update. This can be done at http://pingomatic.com. Your current site should have more info about calling cards – search engines like to make sure that the site is relevant to the keyword.

Also, practice aggressive inline linking throughout your website, like Wikipedia does. The are the kings of internal linking and kings of the search results.
